NASHVILLE, Tenn.— Singer/songwriter, author and speaker Tammy Trent has been nominated for Inspirational Female Vocalist of the Year in the 2009 Christian Music Hall of Fame Visionary Awards. Trent is nominated alongside such longstanding artists as Janet Paschal, Susan Ashton, Bonnie Keen and Pam Thum.
Voting in the Christian Music Hall of Fame Visionary Awards is open to the public at www.hallmuseum.com until March 31. Partnering with the International Academy of Music Arts and Sciences (IAMAS), the Christian Music Hall of Fame Induction and Visionary Awards Show will be held November 14 in Dallas, and will be hosted by recording artist David L. Cook along with acclaimed comedienne and recording artist Chonda Pierce.
Trent’s fifth studio album to date, Stronger, released last year. Produced by Dove Award-winner Bernie Herms, as well as Doug Bieden, Stephen Marshall and Brian Steckler, the album is a celebration of Trent’s hope and trust in Christ and an acknowledgment of His sovereignty through seasons of sorrow and joy. Her latest single, “You’ve Already Shown Me” is currently impacting Christian AC radio, while “I’m Letting Go” has been serviced to Inspirational formats.
Since 1995, Trent has been a familiar voice on Christian radio with a string of hits, including “My Irreplaceable” and “Welcome Home.” She stepped away from the spotlight in 2001 after the tragic death of her husband in a diving accident, returning as a featured speaker and performer at Women of Faith conferences in 2003. Trent spent four years with Women of Faith and has also been a featured speaker and performer on the organization’s Revolve Tour for teen girls. She is the author of Learning To Breathe Again: Choosing Life and Finding Hope After A Shattering Loss (W Publishing), and Beyond The Sorrow: There’s Hope in the Promises of God (J. Countryman).
